It's at the bottom of the layers palette (if you can't find it, go to window>layers. Easy enough, huh?) Click the button with the flash symbol (purple circle with an f) and scroll up to select drop shadow or what ever effect you want. It'll take you to a window where you can select various effects and adjust the settings for them.
Or you could duplicate the layer, make the text on the new one black, give it a gaussian blur and stick it behind the original layer. A little more time intensive, but sometimes it gives you better results.
:3 All good? If that doesn't make sense I can either screencap a mini-tutorial for you, or you can send me the .psd and I can do it for ya.

Yesh. PSD. I should really start making those for things I might want to make better one day. ^_^; But thank you very much! I'll get started on redoing that one right now. If I can't, I'll come crawling to you for it, I suppose. ^_^; Edit: *hugs Setzer* You know EVERYTHING! XD

Moishe betta. :3 If you saved the PSD, I'd suggest moving the middle line up or down a bit so it doesn't cover her eyes. If not, oh well. Works fine.
I'm working on a few really simple ones right now, but I'm havin' fun.

There you go. Nice and balanced now. These are the three I was working on for Edgar. If you like any of 'em, then cool. If not... ah, well. It's cool. I had fun. And if you don't like the text I can always take it out.

How much did Photoshop set you back? I had it once upon a time, but it wasn't legal. I want it back, and I fear I may have to actually buy it.
btw, how 'bout a Kuja icon, people?

XD I won't say mine was legal, but I won't say it was illegal, either. I haven't checked the prices on CS2, but since CS3 came out, I'm sure it's lowered a bit.
Also: I might just make you an icon if you ask nicely. :3 -gonna do it anyway, 'cause Kuja=love-

I have "legally purchased" Photoshop CS2 for 1/100,000,000 of a cent to be paid in full by the year 2100. I also tried to "legally purchase" CS3, but it turned out to be the Mac version so I deleted it. Stupid "store" isn't finding any results for anything but the Mac version. Man, I should just download a new "store" and see if they have it. Then again, I'm not exactly a Photoshop pro. I probably wouldn't notice the difference between the two, just like I don't notice the difference between CS2 and v7.

My advice to anyone who is considering buying (or even really downloading) Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator... stick with CS2. By the time, most of the bugs have been worked out (or you can easily find a fix on the internet) and it's already a great version.
Until at least the third or fourth service pack for CS3, I wouldn't go for an update. It's generally a good idea to wait a year or two after release before you upgrade, though some of you might know that already.
Also: It's likely that you're only finding it on Mac because most Graphic Artists, etc., use a Mac. In fact... I'm becoming a Mac person. Pray for me. -snif-

You, turning to the dark side?! No, don't do it! I hear they brand you with a Mac logo and it burns right through to the soul! They'll replace your blood with apple juice and make you spoud elitist nonsense! We need people like you to prove that PCs can be used for graphics stuff, too! Think of Cage! THINK OF CAGE!
Noooooo!
Nooooooooo!!!
Noooooooooooo!!!!!!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
...Too much?

Hey, hey. Macs can right click! You just have to set them up that way.
And, yeah, PCs can do graphics stuff, and I'm totally used to having to go the long way to get things done... they're just slower at running Adobe programs (And adobe owns my goddamn soul) So... unfortunately Cage gets sleepy.
What I do miss about PCs is that the programs don't "unexpectedly quit" as often. What a pain in the ass.
