Vivi glanced at the People he was with. Clearly they had all been here before, and knew about the terrain.
"I will follow you guys." Vivi said. "It seems like you all know where this is." He moved up and took a hold of Tifa's hand. She seemed to be the most upset to see this place.
"Are you going to be alright guys?" He asked, more for himself than the others, but concerned for them as well.
He looked back towards the burning town. Wondered if he would ever see places he knew... and people he knew.
((LOOKIE AT THAT! I POSTED!!! WOOHOO))

Tifa started at the feeling of a smaller hand clasping her own. Looking down, she squeezed the little mage's hand and gave him a tear-stained smile. She could be brave.
Looking past Cloud, she saw Vincent fall to his knees, his golden-clawed forearm reaching out to stop his fall. She looked down at Vivi and exchanged a puzzled, worried frown with him before looking back to Cloud.
"Cloud, look at Vincent? Is he alright?" As she took a few hesitant steps towards the red-caped man, he rose and seemed to collect himself. Cloud turned to the mountains, suggesting they move on.
Tifa nodded in agreement. "How should we? Do we walk through....that?" She gestured at the burning ghost of a town. "Or do we circle around it?"

Cloud thought for a moment, then shook his head. He turned to Tifa.
"There's no way around. If my memory serves me correctly, the mountain range extends to the end of the continent, and we won't be able to get around without a vehicle of some sort. The easiest way is straight through the Nibel Mountains."
Cloud said, turning back to the flames. He dipped his hand inside once more, just to confirm to himself that it was only an illusion. He walked forward, confidently, stopping in the middle as the flames seem to consume him.
"It's alright."
He said to the others.
"It's only...A memory..."

Still feeling out of control of his own body, Vincent scratched at his chest sub-consciously; looking out towards the Mountains before them. He remained expressionless, but the feeling from before was troubling him. How could that happen? he silently wondered.
He heard Cloud respond to Tifa and faced them, then looked again to the mountains.
"Cloud is right. There's no way around, only through. Through this stain on the land." he quietened his last sentence, obviously torn apart by how the memory continued to flourish in this world. It gave him a horrendous fear that something was more than he ever knew, or would know.

Vivi stood looking at the scene over and over again. Listening to Cloud and Vincent's comments shook him from his trance. "I guess we should get moving." The little blakc mage said. With that he took a deep breath, and then started walking forward into the town.

Watching Cloud's hand move unharmed through the fire, she nodded, face blank. The first step forward was the hardest, her feet felt cemented to the ground. Dark wisps of hair blew into her face as she slowly moved forward. At least the breeze is real, she thought. The illusion in front of her made her want to cling to what was real.
Within a step of the flames, she paused, staring at Cloud. She reached forward tentatively, fingers inching into the ghostly flames. The felt....nothing. Her heart pounded beneath her breast as she watched her hand become engulfed, but there was no burn.
Lifting her eyes to Cloud's, she murmured to herself. "What specters will our memories relive here?"
As Tifa stepped forward into the flames, she reached out for Cloud's hand.
(Sorry this took me forever!!!)

Cloud turned as Tifa spoke, and saw her reach for his hand as she stepped into the flames. His heart beat intensified for a moment, and his hand slowly went out to her. He thought he had lost her once alread; This time, he wouldn't let you go.
"Don't worry, Tifa. I promised to protect you, remember?"
He said as he smiled, the ghostly flames still raging.

Vincent frowned slightly as he watched Cloud and Tifa's entrances into the ghostly flames. He felt a distinct feeling of sorrow as he followed suit. Nibelheim here was constantly like this? Where were they, anyway? Previously he'd found himself in a place that looked as though it was from a few centuries before his time, now he stood in Nibelheim as it continued to burn. Was this world just purely filled with chaos? Or was this a strange new chapter to his home?
He joined Tifa and Cloud in the flame, not feeling heat, not feeling a burn, nothing. The flames were a mere illusion. But what was powerful enough to create such a realistic illusion? The same breeze to move Tifa's locks, moved his own hair and cloak. The voice inside still fading away, he felt a small chill down the back of his neck, and trembled slightly. What was to happen to them?
He had the impression something horrible may happen, or it was just his paranoia. Either way, the feeling of impending doom kept him on guard.
"Let's go." he urged with the little feeling he could put into his words.

So much seemed to be going on to Vivi. All around him people were being faced with nightmares from there past. This town obviously bringing back painful and dreaded memories for much of the party. This cast Vivi into deep thought. If they were re-living there worst nightmares, would he have to as well. Vivi wasn't sure if he could go through that. After all, his worst nightmare was being used as a weapon for war, or even worse, ending up alone.
Vivi paused in his walking and looked around. Tifa still seemed to be holding back a well of tears, or so it seemed. Cloud seemed to be deep in inner turmoil about what he would actually see here. Vincent seemed to be fighting his own mind about this new, or in there case, old horror that had now awakened to them. Vivi could now sense quite heavily the fear and sorrow lingering in the air. The air... it seemed to be weighing him down with every step that he took, or every second that he stood.
Vivi had heard what Cloud had said to Tifa about going through the mountains. He wasn't sure if Cloud's memory could serve him right here. This place just seemed to be a floating mass of nightmares all smashed together. First the Magnificent city that now seemed to be laid to waste, and now the town that he had heard called Nibelheim. Did the mountains extend all the way down the continent, or was there even a path through the Nibel Mountains, if that is what they actually were. It didn't really matter the little black mage determined as he thought about it. Either way, he had to get to the Iifa tree. The mist had to be stopped. Eventually he decided that either way they went, whatever world Tifa, Cloud, and Vincent came from would definitely give them a better starting point than Vivi.
He dropped back behind the other three. It was time for him to follow them now.
