The party was dividing. Zack was no tactician, but he'd commanded enough MPs in his day to know a disorganized fray when he saw one. And the worst part was that one of those MPs was trying to reorganize. "I don't know a damn thing about Avalanche," Zack said as he swung the large, foreign weapon around. It was black, sharp, and felt awkward in two hands. Zack preferred his Buster Sword to this one any day of the week, but it worked well enough. He continued after cleaving one sinspawn clean in half. "But the last time I worked with Cloud over there he was just a little MP." His free hand hovered somewhere around his chest, then a frown creased the SOLDIER's brow as he lowered that hand closer to his hip. He quirked a brow as he raised that hand a little more - on account of those ridiculous spikes (not that he was one to talk) - then nodded. "The worst part is that we're following those orders." He was interrupted by several of the sinspawn crawling down a building. There it was, that moment where the two parties stretched too thin in the center. One of the creatures managed to slip between them, then another. Slowly, the surrounded parties drifted apart from each other. It was all that Zack could do to keep them from tackling them from both sides.
"Hey, Reno? You wouldn't happen to have any materia, would ya? A red one? Preferably with something really really big locked inside?" As soon as the words were out of his mouth, Masamume cut a large swath of creatures down to make a walkway for the gently turning General. Zack was mesmerized for a moment - it had been quite a while since he'd last seen Sephiroth actually physically attack large numbers of monsters. Usually he'd just cast Something-aga All and walk through the corpses. No, the General was mowing down the insects with practiced movements that made him appear to be dancing in slow motion. "Nevermind," the SOLDIER ammended.
But the General was far too fast for Zack to keep up with. Soon, he was so far ahead that the creatures filled in behind him and he was lost between the buildings. Cloud and his party had disappeared behind them. That left the two ShinRa personnel back to back in a sea of sinspawn. "I only have one regret, man," Zack said. He cut down the creatures as they came within reach. "I should've been dead. After bailing out of the Mansion, I ran into some little MP with a happy trigger finger. Somehow, I got this borrowed time, and I've only got, well, more than one." He cut down a couple more. The corpses were piling high and his arm was getting tired. "First off, I think Cloud had my sword back there. Little bastard." He shook sweat from his brow. "Second, we never did get breakfast. What are we on now, lunch? Beer, pizza, and a good game. It's been a very long time since I had an afternoon like that." Even First Class SOLDIERs had a limit on how much they could swing a heavy blade, especially on limited sleep and less food. He could only imagine how the Turk was doing. "Finally," his breath was ragged but he still swung that sword, "I couldn't find Aerith. I hope she's inside and safe. Maybe she'll forgive me for dieing again."
One of the sinspawn fell from the top of a building and nearly crashed down upon the pair. "Goddammit! Will this never end?"
((The parties were getting kinda massive, so we're doing our part to divide us into smaller bite size portions. I hope I haven't taken too many liberties with your characters. PS, you think this is a lot of monsters... Get ready for the end of disk one.))

((DISK ONE?!?!?! There are Disks? wow. How do I change disks? )) Vivi was starting to worry about the amount of creatures that were left. He didn't see any more appearing, but who knows. It is not exactly like he could focus on them. All of sudden, he felt a massive flow of energy run through his body. What was this power? It didn't really matter to him. If it helped to kill these things... then did it really matter? It was odd though. With this spell he could only focus on a large area, but not on small groups of bugs. He focused on an area with a lot of insects in it, but none of his friends. Reaching far deeper into his spirit then he had ever before he started to draw energy from his whole being. There was a point that he had thought he had fallen over. He could not maintain casting this spell for to many times. And with no further notice a large area that Vivi had been focusing on erupted into a massive flare of flames. It seemed like there were thousands of explosions going on in this area, almost simultaneously. Needless to say all 15 of the creature in that area remained there, but only as charred statues. "Hey guys," Vivi said, not really talking to the silver clad man who seemed to be doing fine on his own, " Watch out for this."

((EEheehee. We need to split up the parties so that everyone can play with new people. We'll split up with some people following the Mist (Vivi, that mean you're a big part of lading a party-- also Alexander, you'd be every good to.... so would Bahamut.), the other part (whoever is left) will need to research Lunatic Pandora.... Seriously guys. Shit is hitting the fan. Zack, Setzer and I will be trying to find Aerith while everyone else does their thing. Oh, Tifa.... for our little plot.... distance makes the heart grow fonder. Cloud isn't the same Cloud, now is he? *wiggled eyebrows* ... I've gotta post later, though. I spent WAY too much time with Xenos....))

((OMG...i just had a funny vision of the group - a part on their knees, by Vincent's side, screaming for help, Zack lost in his thoughts, talking alone while the monsters get closer and Seph running like a lunatic screaming: "for Frodooo!!" Okay, i'm kidding...please, don't kill me! Really! I'm sorry! =p I erase the comment later!))
((Well, Seph won't stop until something makes him, according to his possessed not possessed state...but don't get closer! =p) (now shit will hit the fan completely, Reno...))
Sephiroth's eyes got greener.

((HAHAHAAHA!!!! I LOVE IT, SEPH!!! "No Seph, I need the Ring. It's a part of me...."))
Reno flinched. "Don't count on it," in the midst of battle, Reno's teal eyes turned up to the temple, the rising moon red against the towers. "Heads up," the Turk called, covering for Zack so he could catch a glimpse for himself. "Looks like they're takin' your sweetheart along for a bumpy ride." He grinned recklessly as he beat down a couple more enemies, "Maybe you'll get to appologize in person. I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news. Besides, do you really want your MP friend finishing your duty?" He nodded to Setzer and Zack, then said, "Let's walk behind the Meat Cleaver," the redhead jerked his head towards Sephiroth, "We're bound to get in to rescue the damsel."

((That's cool. I'm going to delete these OOC posts, though, mmmk?))
Zack felt torn between two duties. The first was to follow his General into battle and watch his back. That was complicated by the fact that his General was also a friend on the verge of losing his mind again. The other option was to rescue his girlfriend from the two strange men who were dragging her down into the building. But it had been five years since they'd last seen each other, and though it wasn't his choice, they might not be a couple anymore.
So he took out his frustration on the nearest sinspawn, as well as on his friend. "Dammit, Reno. Now you're making me look bad." He shook the sweat from his eyes and put that pessimistic little voice back in its cage. He was the eternal optimist, wasn't he? The SOLDIER shook out his arm and cracked his neck. "On three, we break through and follow the food processor, hang a ralph, defeat the villains, slay the dragon, and rescue the princess." He took the legs out from under another and kicked a pile of corpses over onto the oncoming rush. It was starting to get hard to see with the sun setting and these infernal fireflies flickering in the mist. The bloated red moon hung between the buildings, barely visible through the mist and the lights. "And... three!"

After his last spell, Vivi looked around. It seemed he had bought himself a second clearing the area around him, but the flow of creatures just kept coming.
Where are they all coming from? thought Vivi. Then he saw it. Like a looming cloud it was there, rolling over the forest, and, to Vivi, bringing an all too familiar doom. The Mist.
"What is the Mist doing here?" Vivi asked in shocked manner, knowing full well that he would not get a response. He looked back realizing that the group was separating, the only ones still near him were Cloud, Tifa, and Vincent, and with no way to really get back with the rest of the group without risking injury to them, Vivi tried to figure out what to do. It didn't seem that the mist was coming from the City.
"We have to deal with this Mist!" Vivi shouted to the Three people behind him, "I need to stop this Mist!"
Remembering what the Mist caused, and also what it was used for, almost enraged the little black mage. He went back to casting, but started to move in the direction of the Mist, and not the elegant City that was now behind him hoping that the others would follow.
((Who's coming with me...? I guess i am not all that sure. Maybe when I find out I will edit my post so that Vivi is talking with them and not everybody. I hope this works... :/))

Alexander hovered over the city, having followed Tiamat for miles and miles from that wicked crater of Sephiroth’s. As happy to be rid of the place as Alexander was, a pang of regret shot through his heart at the thought of Zanarkand. A broken ghost of a once beautiful city, and Alexander could do nothing to save it. That was one more thing to hold Xenos on trial for, as far as the knight was concerned.
The chase had been uneventful, with Alexander expending little more energy after the haste spell had been cast, except to teleport forward in short bursts when Tiamat got too far ahead. Once Bevelle came into view, though, Alexander slowed. The reasons for this were threefold.
First, Alexander had to avoid an aerial confrontation. His agility on the wind was impressive enough, but was not on the levels of a dragon. Further, the way he carried Tidus did not allow him the freedom of combat. The boy was very vulnerable in this state, and Alexander had sworn to protect him.
Second, Bevelle was a beautiful sight. The Yevon faith seemed to suffer some corruption in the form of Seymour Guado, and their policy against machines irked the winged man, but the faith itself inspired goodness, rule of law, and unity among the people. Alexander approved of these things, and so to view this city as a holy one in all its beauty made it even more glorious to behold in his eyes.
Third, there was a roiling mist over the land, and it frightened him. Alexander remembered all too clearly the horrors of Alexandria’s fall from grace. It disgusted him to think about his country’s wicked behaviour and his subsequent failure to protect it, but it was inconsequential at the moment. This was as holy a city as Alexandria, and he would not see it fall. He would have to warn its people of the dangers of the mist. That the Iifa tree once again sucked the energy from the earth was a disturbing thought indeed.
Lowering himself closer to the ground, Alexander noted a large number of people running from something. Closer still, and Alexander could make out creatures. Horrible, unnatural beats. Sinspawn. Yes, Alexander remembered them from Tidus’ last memories of Zanarkand’s glory. Sinspawn were attacking Bevelle.
The city was under attack.
“What has he done?!” Alexander cried, jumping immediately to the conclusion that Xenos had lay siege to the city. “No.” Alexander stated plainly. He would not see a holy land fall. Not again. Never again would he see such a horrible thing. “Not as this city stands as a holy bastion for the people will I see it fall.”
Alexander lowered himself directly in front of the entrance to the city, turning to face the city itself. A number of people had taken up arms against the creatures. Alexander smiled at their efforts. Protecting this land was important to them, it seemed. Why wouldn’t it be? This was their holy…land…
Upon closer inspection, Alexander actually began recognising certain people.
Vincent. Vincent Valentine, the man who turned evil back on itself, taking advantage of his curse for the greater good. If ever there were a sign that a dark body could not taint a good spirit, Vincent was it.
Cloud Strife, the greatest hero in the history of the seventh realm, stood by his friends. Alexander would be happy to have someone so powerful fighting for his cause.
Tifa Lockhart, Cloud’s dear friend and dedicated partner. She looked younger. Another person from the past whose existence was at the fault of Xenos, it seemed. He would be charged with stealing years of Tifa’s life.
Vivi, the poor child with more power than he knew what to do with. Alexander was always happy to see that he’d gotten more time to live than the average black mage.
Zack, Cloud’s dead friend from SOLDIER. Resurrection of the rightfully dead. Another crime against the natural order to be held against Xenos. He remembered seeing Zack earlier, when he met Tidus. He fared well, it seemed. Good. No need for him to suffer in life, even if his place was in death. That would be put right eventually.
Reno, the Turk. A Shinra goon. Shinra. The name left a bad taste in Alexander’s mouth. He’d seen Reno earlier, too. Alexander sneered at the man in disgust. How someone could sell their soul to a devil and maintain such a care-free attitude eluded the angel. Perhaps it was simply his nature.
Setzer Gabbiani, a gambling airship pilot. The blasphemous amalgamation that was this world had claimed the sixth realm as well? By the Holy Light, this was worse than he’d thought. This explained the airship resting outside the city. It had looked familiar to Alexander, but he had hoped it was simply déjà vu.
Sephiroth. Thought eluded Alexander at this moment as righteous fury took over his expression. Sephiroth, the son of Crisis, was in front of him again. Again, he did not give off the evil aura that he once did. Alexander shook it off. Even if he wasn’t evil now, Jenova would forever taint his blood with darkness. He was cursed, and cursed he would remain. Even if he was fighting the beasts, he-…
The beasts! Alexander had lost his train of thought on that silver haired scoundrel. He would attend to the lesser threat at a later date. As of now, Xenos and his sinspawn were the immediate threat. He had to save this place. Simple goals were what he needed. First was to stop the sinspawn, then stop Xenos, and then deal with the mist. Afterwards, he would return to tend to the Yevonites.
Landing “Tidus, we’re going to have to…” the knight trailed off. Looking down at the young man, Alexander heard a slight snoring. Evidently, Tidus had fallen asleep in mid-flight. A smile grazed Alexander’s lips, and he allowed himself a moment of mirth before the coming battle. “Tidus, how could you fall asleep in such an awkward position?”
Sighing, Alexander thought it for the best. Tidus was weary, and needed rest. He would not wake the blond. He didn’t have to.
Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, Alexander began to concentrate. First it was Tidus who began to vanish. First his hands and feet, followed by his arms and legs. Then came his torso, neck, and finally his head. The same process soon began with Alexander, although it went from head to toe instead. Alexander couldn’t have his feet vanishing out from under him, after all.
Soon, in the angel’s place, stood Alexander’s true form: A colossal robotic castle. Alexander was a holy city in and of himself. Tall towers rested on his head, arms, and shoulders. Intricately carven windows and balconies lie in his chest. He had enough rooms to house a kingdom comfortably, and yet at this moment only a single man lived there. Tidus, the sleeping dream, slept soundly in a bed deep in the bastion that was the holy judge; strange masses of clockwork spinning and ticking around him, performing unknown functions that kept Alexander moving.
His arms lowered, crashing into the city gate’s walls. Alexander would have cringed if he still had a face capable of it. Nobody was hurt. It could be rebuilt. It wasn’t important. Alexander put it out of his mind for the moment, and focused on the slow chores that were his attack preparations.
Steam. Massive clouds of steam were vented from Alexander’s hands, built up through the sheer effort of movement in this form and filling a large section of Bevelle. This likely wouldn’t go over well with the fighters near the entrance. Again Alexander cringed inwardly. Fighting in populated areas always caused problems like this. It mattered little, though. The steam cleared after roughly fifteen seconds.
Finally, Alexander opened his eye. It wasn’t for seeing, really. He could see roughly everything in this form. Near-panoramic vision was granted to him by the Holy Light he commanded easily in this form. Compressing it all tended to dampen his powers, but that was the price he paid for mobility. It was usually well worth it, but not in this case. The eye shone, gathering energy as it began focusing in on a group of sinspawn advancing towards Tifa and Vivi from behind. Then, after a moment of calm, it shot forth a great, sweeping beam of concentrated holy energy. Tearing through the shells of the creatures, Alexander fired again and again, careful not to hit any humans directly. Well, almost any humans.
Alexander, remembering a promise he had given to Sephiroth upon their earlier meeting, fired two beams in the legendary SOLDIER’s direction. He did not hit the man directly, but instead encircled him with the energy. A wide circle surrounded the man, and then a smaller one inside it, and then an even smaller one inside that one. Sephiroth then stood in the middle of a large target. Alexander considered this warning enough, and discontinued the shots in his direction. He was standing too close to Zack anyways.
Looking back upon the city, Alexander continued his assault on the beasts. Shot after shot was fired, killing dozens at a time. Though he aimed carefully in order to be sure he didn’t hit any Yevonites, the same could not be said for Alexander’s aim regarding the city itself. Streets were torn up in the wake of his beams, with rubble falling onto empty streets from grazed buildings. He couldn’t be sure that this wouldn’t result in some human harm.
Still, there seemed to be no end to them. Even though he blocked the entrance, they seemed to be coming out of nowhere. For every dozen he killed, eleven would take their place. For all his power, Alexander was putting more of a dent in the city then the number of creatures.
This was, of course, not going to stop Alexander from firing at them. After all, he had sworn to bring Xenos to justice even if he had to tear the world apart. The city would surely survive in the end, anyways. Any holy city worth its sacred guardian could take something like this and rebound from it.
((It’s not godmodding if you’re not actually having any effect, right? Haha! Ahh, and it feels good to post again. It’s been a while since I had a good long post.))

((I had forgotten how much Alexander leaves a bad taste in my mouth.... I'm getting angry reading him blame everything on Xenos and I'm not even logged on as him and even if I was, I couldn't do crap about the assumptions!!! YOU DO SO WELL, ALEX! Wait... did you just keep me and Zack from getting into the city? Can I ignore that? We kind of HAVE to get in to really separate like we need to.)) Reno lingered behind Zack, his eyes caught by the huge castle slamming itself down on the ground in the entranceway. His mouth dropped, but he ran, following Zack even as he dove to avoid falling building fragments. "What the hell is that thing?" He called, his legs throwing him in every which direction, "You think it's hungry?" The Turk nearly skidded to a halt when the beams surrounded Sephiroth, but he shook off the awe and shock and just kept on going. "I've never heard of the damosel being DEVOURED by the tower." Reno hung a Ralf as Zack had instructed and bolted behind the Soldier, his nightstick a-swingin'. ((Alexander: Feeeeed me, Seeeemour! P.S. Zack, I think you've been around Josh a bit too much. "Hang a Louie/Ralf" as directions?! It made me stifle my laughter in the middle of the school computer lab! You sly, sly fox!))

Yes, feel free to ignore it. I hadn't noticed that you were outside city limits. Sorry! My bad! I can alter it if you like, or you could just climb over Alexander. Bwahaha! Ahh... *hangs head in shame, and also starts eating princesses*
What? A castle's gotta eat.))

((Climb Alexander, hum?? Huumm....long time no see, Alex!))
The corpses falling around Sephiroth was turning him thirsthy for blood. He even ignored the men fighting by his side and kept his beloved Masamune dancing above his head and swinging around his body. His eyes were getting greener and greener and it was almost like he couldn't listen to his human side anymore.
Even though imersed in all the action, the silver clad man noticed the light suddenly surrounding him. The killing stopped for a second when he turned his green eyes to the sky.
"Alexander..." the general smirked while murmuring the name. He knew the giant castle didn't have any intention on helping him out, but he had to be thankful for. At least, the light distraction annoyed him enough to pay attention on his own movements again. Some more minutes and Jenova would have taken control. The pain returned, but wasn't time to think about it now. He had a mission.
"Sorry, my dear castle, but you are on my way..." he smiled while taking impulse and with a high jump reached the back of Alexander and kept jumping until fall in the other side. Soon he was out of vision and inside the city.
((Thanks for the idea, hehe))

Watching the cure work it's way into Vincent, Tifa's concentration was interrupted by the sudden quivering of the bridge beneath her feet. Turning to look over her shoulder, her eyes caught sight of a huge fortress-like castle walking along the bridge. She whirled, her back to Vincent, watching as the hulking building moved, shooting light beams at the beasts threatening her and her counterparts. Sephiroth leapt up and over the castle, diseappearing into the city. "What...what is it?" She asked nobody in particular. Sudden light flared bright in her eyes, emitted from the castle, blinding her sight. It vanished almost as quickly as it had come, and had vaporated the beasts approaching her. "Well, at least it's helpful." She muttered. Turning to Vincent, she offered a hand. "Can you make it? We need to get inside the city." Her eyes slid towards Cloud. "We need to help Cloud's girl friend." ((Why is nobody from my group posting?? Cloud! Vincent? Where are yooooooou?)) ((Snicker....I am listening to Keane and the lines "Nothing left inside this old cathedral, just the sad, lonely spires..." just played. Fitting for Alex? ))
