Reno still couldn't believe how that beast was able to fly without blades and all the niceties that the Highwind had, but he lost his fascination in the ship when he saw that look of desperation pulling Zack's face taut. Reno sniffed and pulled himself straight. "If this is how it's gotta be, we've got no choice," Reno murmured to himself. 'Move on up, Captain-- we're right behind you." Reno threw his spider-like limbs into the ladder and hoisted himself up one arm by one spindly leg at a time. Occasionally he would find his head a little too far up Setzer's jacket and he'd have to slow down.
Not as fun as wall-climbing, buuut... Reno pursed his lips together, what can be expected when there's no food or booze around?
His stomach growled when his brain pulled up images of poached eggs and toast. Even one of Tseng's weird breakfasts would suit him just fine. Reno never expected to be home sick, but he was really starting to miss the other assholes....Not even Rude was around for him to tease. As he reached the top of the ladder, Reno thought to himself, A lone Turk is a sad existence....

((I have a funny feeling that this ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glossary_of_nautical_terms) will be most useful.)) The history lesson that was part of the hovering dirigible was completely lost on the SOLDIER. Any other time, he would have admired the craftsmanship of the wooden decks and the intricate carvings that embellished the handrails. Highwind would've gotten a kick out of this, Zack thought as he mounted the ladder, the first glimmer of his usual humor trying to crack to the surface. In his mind's eye, he imagined the Captain craning his neck back until his joints creaked to take in the massive balloon. This would be before he dove below deck and managed to worm his way into the engine room. With or without Setzer's permission. They were about halfway up the ladder when Zack heard Reno's stomach protest the past few days without food. This was possibly the most sober he'd ever seen the Turk, and for some reason it bothered him. It was just another sign of just how *not right* this whole thing was. They were climbing up into a relic from over a hundred years ago as though it was just off the showroom floor to escape from a holy city now overrun by monsters from the moon and destroyed by ultima Ultima just so that he could rescue his girlfriend from a couple guys and a dragon. The whole situation made his head hurt. At least the last part made sense, at least tactically. Defeat the two captors and their dragon. He'd fought the oversized lizards all through Nibelheim and the captors were only men. Even if they were the SOLDIER 1sts of their military, Zack was still confident that between himself, Reno, and Setzer, those two men had little chance. He was too far up to see Sephiroth's proud figure standing in the shadow of the airship. ((Ok, Bela, I got you an opening to jump in. if you don't want this, I can delete that last line and you can enter however you'd like. Also, Reno... does your phone still work?))

((Geez, i'm really rusty, so i'll take some time to get into your english level, guys, but i'll work on it ^^; ))
((modified...i can't deny that i'm really frustrated, but...it's your choice, people.))
Sephiroth sent a glance to the huge and familiar vehicle above his head with his fellow-soldiers reaching it by a swinging ladder. His troublesome mind was still darken by the last moments he passed on the place. Hardly could remember of the summons and the strange people around; everything seemed like dancing pictures passing by. The last thing he could remember was passing over Alexander and...what happened? Remembered of voices telling him to stop at the same time others were telling him to go on. It was impossible to keep like this.
The silver clad man tried to act wiser. In fact, many things around his head were hard to tell if they were illusions or not. All he could remember now was leaving the place after reaching a strange kind of green hall, and jumping as high as possible until break some kind of louver and passing to a daylight. Now he was alone and facing the non typical Shinra airship flying over his head.
"Zack..." he murmured as he saw his easy-going friend trying to reach the flying machine. Smirking, Sephiroth realized those two irritating guys, Zack and Reno, were the only ones that could keep his mind attached to reality. Irony, indeed, but he had no choice if the decision was to keep sanity.
With a jump, Sephiroth easily passed above Zack's and Reno's head, like it was a natural talent and reached the deck of the airship, standing over the above board. Sending a glance down, he said to Zack with a hiding smile into a superior pose.
"Why did you take so long?"
(Anyway, he has high jump...is it okay?))

Reno frowned with disdain as he met face to face with the General. "What do they give you guys in Soldier." He snapped his fingers, "Think of what it would do for us Turks, but then again we do everything with just our human power!" He shot the empty air a grin and flexed his "muscles". With that out of the way, he sauntered to Setzer and asked, "So how does this Zeppelin work? It doesn't seem too fast, not meaning any offense," he pursed his lips, "just that Zack will probably want to catch up to those guys in the blink of an eye." The Turk sighed and shook his head, but before he could say more, his phone began to ring and violently vibrate.
Confused, the man pulled the cell phone out of his pocket and stared at the name. "Tseng?" He threw a reckless grin on his face and answered, "Yo! Never thought I'd hear from you again-- How'd you get that damned stomach wound to heal? Where are you? Last I heard you were in the hospital... You probably want me to report, right? Zack and I are with Sephiroth on an airship on our way to rescue Aerith from some evil dudes who took her. I haven't heard from Rude at all, but I don't think I could find him if I wanted to since the world is so fucked up. We met up with Cloud and Tifa and some other people to beat some shit outta a bunch of bugs and then monsters started falling out of the sky and a dragon took your Cetra away.... I promise, I'm sober. Shit's just gotten real. Anyway, what have you got for me, boss man?"

Setzer frowned. He might have taken offense anyway if they weren't in such a hurry. The gambler opened his mouth to correct Reno when the redhead stopped to attend to his ringing phone. He blinked as Reno talked into the device, and decided not to press the matter. Or ask any questions. Some things were better left unanswered. He was certain, of course, that the Falcon would surprise them all; this seemed to be a theme with all the first-time passengers of the 'ship. He smiled and dismissed the redhead with a soft clap on the shoulder.
A glance back at Zack told him he should move ahead and get the ship moving. The man seemed occupied both mentally and with the silver-haired newcomer. By now Setzer was content not to ask questions about new people; the men seemed to know him well enough, and neither of them were up in arms at his arrival. So with a nod, Setzer moved to take his place at the wheel of the ship, turning to address his new passengers once more. The captain cleared his throat. "Right. I suggest you all hold on to something, lest ye be thrown overboard." Sure, they might not heed his word now, but soon. Setzer grabbed hold of the wheel, giving it a sharp turn as he pushed the 'ship in gear. North, he recalled. He had gone North, so they would head North. "You're all holding on now, aren't you," he chuckled quietly. At least he hoped they were.

((Okay, I'm sorry, but the image of Reno with his head up Setzer's coattails has me cracking up. Also this:
Setzer: Not very fast. Are you kidding me? This is the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs!
No, Xenos, I don't play WoW. It's a Star Wars reference, ya goof. The Millenium Falcon can make the Kessel run in less than twelve parsecs. Get it? Millenium Falcon? Someone needs to stop playing WoW. On the other hand, someone else needs to stop watching Star Wars. >.>))

Reno kind of gave a mental wave at the Captain. There was no need to hang on, since Reno had ridden just about every kind of ship provided to ShinRa-- excluding that space ship that Highwind was working on, no matter how much he'd love to drink in space. If he had been less occupied with Tseng there would have been a definite train of thought including floating globules of scotch or whiskey or whatever he felt like, but as it was, he merely leaned against the wall into the cabin with the phone to his ear.

A stunned silence issued forth from the phone as Tseng floundered for words. The silence continued on for long moments before Tseng’s voice could finally be heard. The words were precise but possessed an undercurrent of uncertainty along with a little hesitation.
"The wound can wait," Tseng's voice stopped for a moment across the phone. "As for my present location, I'm in Midgar."
He paused again between sentences and when he began to speak again his voice was steadier though a bit confused, "More importantly, do you have any reinforcements on the way to deal with Sephiroth; we can't let him finish his project."
A deep, static filled breathe echoed across the phone lines before Tseng continued to speak his words more of a mumble now his tone distant, "Have you confirmed that Avalanche has the Black Materia yet?"
Tseng's voice stopped again replaced by the now discernable sounds of Midgar nightlife and traffic.

"Slow down, boss man!" Reno implored while he raised one hand as though the head of the Turks could see him. "You got the wrong idea! Sephiroth isn't trying to do anything right now except for save Aerith, like the rest of us. If you called a few days ago, it would have been a different story; Nibelheim is a ghost town," he warned with a hint of a joke teasing on his voice, "not in a figurative way, either." He grit his teeth at the memory, but shook off his fear. "Sephiroth found his way into the basement and Zack played hell keeping him sane." He paused and purse his lips, "He lost his memory before we found him, so he's flailing in the dark.
"As for Avalanche... Looks like it melted, boss." his mind drifted to Tifa, confused and unsure of the things around her... she was so much younger than before. "Things are all messed up," he admitted, then softly he asked, "Have they found Rufus yet? After the explosion, I kind of lost hope.... What will happen with ShinRa now?" He shook his head and listened to an abrupt yell from someone on the other end of the phone and laughed, "Midgar's doing just fine."

An exasperated sigh issued forth from the phone before Tseng began to speak. Tseng's voice retained it's usual icy precision he was known for with just a hint of concern mixed in though it could have just as easily been a trick of the phone's reception, "Reno, I'm counting on you to keep the situation under control. I want Sephiroth monitored for any signs of instability, clandestinely if you can manage. He is a danger to the Planet and Shinra's operations."
The sounds of Midgar city life began to grow distant and muted as Tseng continued to speak, "I'm currently moving towards the Upper Plate and will be procuring transportation to Junon along with weapons and supplies from our offices in the building. Hopefully, someone there will have information on the current whereabouts of the President along with anything concerning Rude and Elena. I'll need you to transmit to me your current location as well so we can arrange for a renzdevous as soon as possible."
Once again another emotion seemed to mix into Tseng's voice. Was it uncertainty? He didn't sound so confident about procuring transportation, supplies or about Shinra providing information about the others. A loud noise like a car engine roars over the phone for a moment before Tseng continued to speak through the phone again.
"I'll need a full situation report on what happened to Aerith as well. She's important to the company and should be considered top priority until we can confirm the complete and total annihilation of the Jenova threat," this time it was quite clear that Tseng was concerned about something more than just because Shinra wanted him to be. Tseng's voice had placed subtle emphasis on Aerith's name and top priorty in a way uncharacteristic of the Turk.
The phone went silent again as Tseng waited for Reno's acknowledgement and location.

Reno nodded, "Okay, boss. I'll do what I can." He pressed a button on the side of his phone, "I'm transmitting now, but I don't know if the coordinates will work too well," a hint of worry crept into his voice, "Good luck. I mean it. There are entire cities -missing-. They're not destroyed, but it.... They don't exist." The Turk tightened his grip on the phone, "Be careful. I don't know what all has changed, but I'll update you as soon as I can with a full report." Reno hated reports. He always left them for Rude or Elena while he would go off and celebrate their victory. The fact that Reno was offering to do a much-hated activity was proof of the Turk's concern. He ran his spare hand through his hair. "I guess that's all, boss." With a return of his normal charisma, Reno added, "Don't get yourself into anymore trouble. We all know you're a desk Turk and have terrible luck, so we won't hold it against you if you're late." He laughed, "Watch out for swords; they cut, boss-man." With that he closed his cellphone and pocketed it in a moment.
He sighed with a smile on his face and when the breath puffed out in front of him like smoke, Reno noticed how cold it was this high up. Nothing he couldn't handle with a little booze. "Yo, Zack! I'm going down below. Do you want something? I'll try to leave you some." He winked and, without reply slid into the cabin to scrounge for whatever he could find.
