I'll add the background as soon as possible, but I have it on my other computer and I can't access that for a couple of weeks.
Name: Odin, Warrior of the Dark
Job: Eidolon. Guardian of the Lifestream.
Good or Evil: He is charged with defending nature and maintaining balence. His own morality reflects this, though he generally has an ethical stance. He is bound by the laws of honour.
Odin’s Past/ History
Odin was many things to many realms. None quite know his true origins as it is hidden deep within the depths of time.
In the Sixth realm he was the guardian and King of the Ancient Castle in the World of Ruin. Here an almighty battle was fought and the castle endured one of the most epic battles of the War of the Magi. There was great clash between the Esper and a Sorcerer which after an agonizing eternity of magical collisions and blades he was turned to stone and the Ancient Castle consigned beneath the waves in an undersea cave. Here was his own love, his Queen and the only other example of love between an Esper and Humanity from Maduin and Madonna and much earlier as well. She was also turned to stone, leaving only a diary as testament.
In the Seventh realm, he was like all of his kind a temporary being summoned briefly into existence via the lifestream. His materia was located in the depths of ShinRa Mansion, where his spirit waited in anger at being unused. It is possible that he was experimented on by Hojo.
In the Eighth realm, from which the Time Kompression spread he dwelled in the abandoned Centra tower, a relic from an ancient race hidden from the world. He was finally discovered by Squall and his five companions. Odin gave them a chance to prove themselves to him, giving them a time limit to hurt him as much as possible, failure meaning death by his sword Zantetsuken. Squall and his allies prevailed and Odin impressed, offered his aid in their quest, appearing occasionally in battle to destroy opponents. However in a crucial battle with Seifer Alamasy, when Odin appeared from the aether to aid Squall, but the power of Ultimecia was such that Seifer’s blade was ensorcelled with deadly powers as she was forewarned being from the future of Odin’s coming. The warrior was torn apart and thrust thorough a breech in time and space falling through a darkened void. No longer could he enter the Eighth reality.
In the final realm in which he dwelled was known as Gaia. This was dangerous world for illusionary beasts which were called Eidolons in this world. In fear of their power the regent of Terra, Garland made to destroy the Eidolons so that that Gaia would be powerless against his plans for assimilation. The ancient Summon Tribe of Madain Sari was crushed beneath his power and Odin was without a master for over a decade. In this world he was a terrible power, named the warrior of the dark he remained for many years bonded with the Princess Garnet waiting for his power to be called upon. However he was extracted from her by Queen Brahne under Kuja’s instruction and was forced to his dismay to destroy the peace loving Cleyrans and their settlement, turning the great trunk to ash and the great cathedral of glass shattered, and melted down by the great surge of energy that the King issued from his lance. Later his services were returned their original owner, but not after much blood shed. He left secrets of his power deep in Ipsen’s castle leaving a message: “To obtain my power fight against the flow of time”. Legend speaks of him prowling that ancient bastion and some theorize that his nature altered it changing it to make how it is: a strange and twisted place.
When Time Kompression began Odin was oblivious to the grave crime against the rules of time and space and only became aware of it when its influence had seeped into the other Realms. But he was too late and slipped into darkness unable to exist. When Lanif Ysatnaf was born his existence was gradually restored and he sought out his old Summoners and companions who had earned his respect, hoping he would be the one to tip the balance in favour of light. First he met with Cid of the Seventh Realm and aided him in rebuilding the Falcon on plains near Midgar. They were joined by Setzer Gabianni, a gambler and pilot from the Sixth world and together they flew to an Opera House on a peninsular. Here they met with others, heroes from across the blighted worlds. Cloud, Rinoa, Kiros and Aerith, though the Ancient was kidnapped during the performance by the sinister Seymour, a mage from the Tenth realm of which Odin knows little. Concerned and furious Odin, Rinoa and Kiros give chase riding Odin’s legendary horse, while Setzer and Cloud travel by the Falcon.
His goals are numerous, but of the highest priority is to find his kin. He heard rumors of Bahamut and of his evil consort Tiamat and of another: Xenos, though Odin knows nothing of who he was or what he did. He also seeks a summoner worthy of his power such was his charge long ago.
Odin has been in contact with Humans for millennia and did commune with the Ancients of practically all of the worlds. The Cetra in the Seventh realm, Centra in the Eighth and the archanic Summoner tribe of the Ninth. Despite his occasionally abrasive attitude towards humans, he has a very high regard for them. In the Sixth realm he fell in love with a mortal queen, but she was turned to stone as was he in the final assult on the Nameless castle below Figaro. It is her soul that talks to him via the lifestream and fuses with him to became the Esper Raiden.
When the Crystal Pillar hit Centra, Odin kept in contact with those who went to the western continent, refusing to have anything to with the technology obsessed Estharians, who centuries later captured fellow G.F Bahamut. Odin was unfortunately unable to help the other Eidolon, due to the new technology they had developed against magical beings.
