OK, guys. We're making headway AT LAST! I think we've been at a standstill for about two years, or nearly so. THere was some stuff going on with the Opera House and Nibelheim, and before that was Junon. Yes, Junon. Then there was the Cave, and before was the root of all this. Aerith and Squall were with Vincent1 in Midgar. So, technically, not much has happened, but it's certainly taken long enough to get here.
So there's plot. Our villain is taking shape (partially because now you all know what he looks like?) and our heroes have a direction. THis is when we need activity the most, and it's freely given it would appear.
We've got elements from just about every game starting to take shape, except for VI. We've got the Mist creating Sinspawn somehow. Aerith is now spanning three whole games (she's just that fat).
But we're having a little dillemma. Anytime we get these huge plot points together, things start getting sluggish as we wait for someone to post. We're closing in on the end of the semester and since most of us are college students, we're stuck with school projects that absorb our little half hour (cough... day) of FFI. If you need time to get back up to classwork, please let us know either through IM or PM. Setzer is out for school right now, but will be back soon. Tidus, too, is busy with the real world. This way, we'll keep your character.
Anyway, that's not what I'm here to talk about. I wanted to go ahead and give up a couple little spoilers for the ride ahead. First off, we're dividing the parties. This is a great time to start up on a game (Auron and Baha), and it's also great to refresh stagnant parties. It gives the parties something to work for that's seperate from the "What am I doing" thing we all seem to get caught up in.
There's the Mist to investigate, Aerith to "rescue", and general inter-group mingling. I'd like to mix up the parties from what we've been stuck with for quite a while. We're working on the arrangement right now. This way we're not always hogging the same players all to ourselves.

Yup yup. So far, we know that Zack and Reno are going to be sticking together on a search for Aerith. More than likely Setzer will stay with us, since that's how it Cloud divided it. Seph, wouldn't it be a kick in the pants if you were paired up with Alex? He hates Seph so Baaaaad.... >.< We could do a few things like this to get the character interaction a bit mixed up. Unfortunately, we're STRONG in our VII majority, so I leave it to you guys to cause conflicts with each other.
Also, now with the addition of the mist (and probably Lunatic Pandora) there will be a lot more opportunities for you to use your abilities. We'll be watching threads and if it gets to be too much talkie talkie, you'll get a random attack. Beware! This will also polish you up and give you items for the larger events. (Alex, we'll probably need to start utilizing that bestiary you made for us. Could you add a link?)
Overall, these big events are good for you, so don't hate!
Procreate!

Alexander smoosh tiny momma's boy! Raaar!
Aaaaanyways, I'll go ahead and post the bestiary in the admin section. I don't really know if it's what you'd like, but it's what I figured we'd need.

Well, I've been attempting to gain us new members (so far I've gotten us 2 people ) that would probably be characters from like, 8, maybe 9 or 10...there are a few people I want to try and see if they would be able to join as non-7 characters, but I'll have to talk to them first...so we may end up with more members or not...it all depends...

I chose Tifa because, quite frankly, I've only completed 7 and 8, and I cannot stand most of the females in 8. It was going to be either Tifa, or Zell (Zell edges out Tifa as my favorite video game character), but I found myself more drawn to playing as Tifa because I felt that, given the characters already being played, there were more potential storylines with her.
But if I was ever to be allowed a second character, it would probably be Zell.

Well, as far as interactions go, Tifa is the best choice. We've had a Zell once before and he was alright... it was some kid I knew in class who had a crush on me. But that was back when FFI was still in its terrible twos. Zell is definately awesome. Didja know that he originally liked bread in the Japanese version? It wasn't hot dogs... but, tell me, if you obsessed over the cafeteria's pumpkin bread or banana nut bread... that would make sense, right? I'd like to know why they made stupid changes like that. Also, Selphie doesn't say "I like trains" in Japanese. She says, "I like things I can ride." Can be planes, trains, or automobiles... or chocobo, hang gliders, or Irvine.
Anyway, good job, Vincent! I'd say more, but I just spent five hours filming a five minute (or less) skit for Japanese.... FFVIII style. I should have it finshed by Thanksgiving (week from tomorrow) if all goes as planned... which it never does.
By the by, Squall says "...betsu ni." It's "...whatever." Just wanted to confirm that with you guys.

I feel for you, Setzer. You've never had a long-lasting FFVI character to play with, have you? You could always ask for a second character and play as Kefka. You'd be your own FFVI friend, as sad as that sounds. ^_^;

Out of curiosity, because a few rather...innuendous comments have been made on this board from time to time, how far could a literary piece and/or 'interactions' between players be taken? Not that I was planning on anything in particular, but it was a passing thought.

I've lost two Edgars, a Locke, at least one Kefka-- oh, and lets not forget Terra (har har). But it's not me, I promise. I only got the chance to play with the first Edgar and Terra. And we know what happened to them. Plus, Setzer seems to lose all his friends! Edgar, Irvine and, I believe, two different Cids. D:

Yeah, Squall will go wherever… he goes. So long as he’s got no major degrees of uncertainty, he’s in. Letting him kill stuff helps.
And I always thought ‘betsu ni’ was not really or something like that. @o; Shows how much I know. ;.; I wish there were Japanese classes in my town. Hell, in my county! ;; I’d take them in a heartbeat. I find it hilarious and kinda scary that Selphie just likes riding things in general btw. (Irvine possibly included.)
And heyhey! Setzer! What about Squall! ;.; :has no one to play with either: He’s lost an Irvine, a Zell and a Rinoa (unless I’m wrong.) Though, is Edea still around or is she gone too?… and whatever DID happen to Rinoa anyway? Was she killed off, did she randomly just disappear, has she never existed because of this?

Rinoa was actually played by our last Squall, so he didn't technically lose her. I'm out for the Rinoa position now, but I don't have second character privelages because the RP gods said said "You're a loose cannon, Alex! One more crazy move like that and I'll have your second character badge!", and then I made one more move like that. XD
Edea is gone. She left fairly quickly after joining, which is probably for the best. It's better than becoming totally involved in the story and then leaving like some people who shall remain nameless. Well, I mean, not nameless. They have names, after all. I'm just not going to name them. They shall remain named, just not here.
We generally don't ask questions about what happens to people who fade out of existence because it hurts our brains to come up with it. From what I can tell, though, they do seem to cease to exist. People remember them, but don't seem to notice when they're gone. It's like they were never there, but you know they were. I dunno how it works, really.
*looks at Aerith* A little help?

TIME KOMPRESSION! It explains everything. Actually, since (is that a working heater I smell? I sure hope so) it would be terribly inconvenient to be like "OMG WUT HAPPENED 2 SOANDSO?" and go onto epic searches for characters who might or might not rejoin the cast, we just let them fade. It's usually best when there's a big split between the parties (Irvine and Auron in the Caves, Rinoa at the Opera House). Sometimes it's in the middle of (yes, the heater is working again!) epic battles (Squall in Crater). Other times the characters are just not particularily in the story and are written out when we get to the plot summary. Sorry, guys who are no longer here and apparently don't care about us anyway. It's tough, though, when characters who didn't really do anything can't be written out. For example, we can't really cut out Cait Sith (who used kitty emoticons with his posts, and wrote in present tense) because if he hadn't insisted that we go to ShinRa HQ and gone for a tune up, Squall would never have gone inside and Aerith wouldn't have chased after him. Therefore, without Cait, Aerith and Squall's meeting wouldn't make any sense. So instead, we just pretend that Cait stayed at the HQ... and that nonsense about him being flesh and blood and Reeve being a machine never happened. I should clean up that part and post it. It would be an interesting read, I think. It and some other parts. But I don't know what story line I should follow (Aerith/Squall? I hate making myself the main character) or what the actual timeline is. Technically, there's only been about a month passing and nothing matches up. But it would be an interesting read, especially when there are parts where I have to either fill in (the Caves, Junon, etc) or where I have to edit the characters of the EARLY players. Our first Vincent didn't know he had a claw. It has been the source of much lulz since. True story. No, really. Every bit of this is FFI in its infancy. Now we can all sit back and appreciate what it is now. No, I'm gonna post when this was happening. That comic is what was happening OOC. This is actual footage from the archives.

They were sucked into a Plothole. : nods : =P And ohgod Aerith. That wee comic thingy cracked me up. *.* I’d started a few of those because the OOCness is the best part... But poor Vincent. And Aerith actually. But Cait in the background with his Shinra HQ was priceless. XD You have any more of those? They’re adorable. <3 (And you know I’m interested in the Squall bits. ; But I’m very biased. )
