((Apologies my friends...I've been meaning to get here and post but something has always been eluding me. Either inspiration, time or just general tiredness. But here I am now, and capable of posting!))
The red-cloaked man watched as Vivi ran off, following Tifa, and without thinking, raised his armour-clad arm, as if to say 'Wait', only to make off in the same direction, following the little mage. For a barely tree-foot high being, he moved quite fast. Cloud seemed to have pre-determined his flight, and yet...something seemed distinctly surreal, as though Tifa, cloud and Vivi weren't really going to find what they sought.
Amazingly enough, the other three had all taken off before he had made to move. He bade farewell to the thoughts and memories he ran past, the streets of Nibelheim strangely unnatural and uncertain whether or not they should claim his footsteps. He cast no shadow as he ran, noticing nothing but what was ahead of him. The familiar streets, seemed devoid of any real familiarity to him at this point. He had no choice but to follow the path set out, and no idea as to what might befall they're motley group.
He reached the steps towards the ShinRa Manor, where he had been sealed for thirty years and as he tried to bound from the ground level to the first step, he felt his foot sinking in, and stumbled. Shock and revulsion caught him at the helm.
"Impossible..." he mouthed. But he could take no time to mourn for what he was unsure of happening. His friends needed him to be with them and not left behind. His trouble's eased off as he dragged his foot from within the stone, no resistance against his attempt. He sat in wonder for a moment, but as wonderous as it was, he had no time to try and discover the why that had occurred.
Raising himself, he looked towards the Manor, and continued to climb the stone steps, each step seeming more like an eternity than he could have thought possible. A grave feeling of peril seemed to take hold, as he saw Mount Nibel shimmer into existence as he reached the top of the steps.
He searched the vicinity for his comrades, Vivi on the verge of collapse, with Tifa scrambling to her feet. He sighed and made his way over to the pair, only to arrive after Vivi had wandered off. After a few moments, he heard the little voice calling out to them, and then the squeal of terror, as if he'd fallen.
"Tifa!" he spoke quickly, and ran towards where Vivi's voice had travelled from.
"Vivi?" he called, peering into the hole in the mountain. "Tifa, bring Cloud." he ordered. If any would be able to help things, Cloud would. Vincent had this distinct impression Cloud knew more than he would let on with this current state of the world. Everything was strangely out of place, and Valentine suspected Cloud would have some impact upon the situation, as he always did.

I'll give him two minutes. XD ))

( Sorry guys. Between work and an incredible lack of sleep, it's tough enough to get through the day. But, so ye shall not roast me in a fire and serve me to Meg for her birthday, here you go. )
Cloud's jaw dropped as he came up behind Tifa, and his surprise sent him into a jarring halt. The first thing that struck him was the Mist. Which he wouldn't have thought odd, since Mt. Nibel was always more or less covered in fog. But the sheer amount of it was overwhelming...And based on conjecture from what Vivi had told them of the Fog, it could explain the nightmare that was being relived in Nibel. He never would really be able to go, would he...
Vivi's squeal of terror snapped him back to reality.
"Ah, Vivi!"
Cloud raced up to the Ledge where Vivi had been standing, watching him tumble down the side towards the entrance where the fog was escaping from.
"Damn...I have to start paying more attention."
Cloud said, almost absently. He could feel Vincent's eyes somewhat on him. The former Turk probably had a question or two that he wanted answered...But considering how that had played out with Tifa, he wasn't entirely sure he was going to play that game again.
"Come on you two. We can't leave the little guy alone. I made a promise."
And with that, Cloud step-hops over the edge and slides as carefully as he can towards the Mine Entrance.

((OOC: Question: Are we allowed to have our characters, to some degree, leap about acrobatically, akin to Advent Children and the Tifa vs Loz and Cloud vs Kadaj scenes? Not to that extreme, but a little above and beyond normal human capacities?)

((OOC: For the record, I've never seen Fossil Roo, and I don't have the foggiest idea what I am leaping into. But Tifa's young and impetuous, so away we go)
Tifa stepped up to the edge of the shaft that disappeared into the mist. Watching Cloud climb down the edge, she looked at Vincent and shrugged.
"I guess we're going down." She attempted to make her voice light, but she was still shaken by Nibelheim and the sudden appearance of the mountain that reared before them. Keeping her big dark eyes on Cloud, she giggled and shook her head.
"Have you forgotten about climbing the mountains in all your military training, SOLDIER boy?" Her taunting was affectionate. Springing forward, she leapt from one edge to the other, toes finding footholds even in her bulky boots. As she descended, the fog thickened around her, increasing her unease. When her feet touched the bottom of the deep shaft, she crouched and glanced around.
"Vivi?" she called. Her voice sounded hollow. In a shaft so large, she should have been able to hear an echo, but it was lost. It seemed to her that her voice didn't carry very far, thanks to the fog.
Standing, she went up on the balls of her feet, her fists rising halfway to eye level. Turning in a slow circle, her ears keen for any sound, she called again.
"Vivi?"

Still staring in awe at the place that he was standing in, he did not even see Tifa come down into the cave. In fact she was so close that she almost kicked him, however since he was barely capping 3 feet tall, he was mostly covered by the mist as it sunk to the floor.
"I am here, he said softley, or at least he meant to, but he could here the ominus echo surround him in sound. The black Mage looked around to see if his other friends had joined them as well. He saw Cloud climbing down the wall into the cave, and could only assume that The other man was close behind him. While he was looking back up at the cave enterance, he wondered how he had not hurt himself in that fall. He remembered bouncing of more than a few rocks, but luckily he had only gotten a few minor cuts.
"This is Fossil Roo," Vivi said softley, "it should lead us right to the Iifa Tree. But be careful. Many dangerous monsters lurked in here the last time I visited this place."
With that, he started to focus his magical energy, bringing to mind his spells, trying to keep them fresh in his mind, so that they would be ready at a moments notice. In his mind he sensed the presence of spells that were not familiar to him, but he figured that he would have ample time to try them out before all was finished.
Almost before he even finished his thought, Vivi heard a slither. Maybe his chance to try some of his spells would not be too far away...
Before Vivi could even turn to warn his friends, Ralvuimago, the snake/dragon slithered up to great them.
((Let me know if you don't wan't to do battle just yet. I can edit this.))

((They're never hostile, just as a note. Perfectly nice, and they even give you rides if you give them flowers. I also wouldn't call them spiders, since they only have 6 legs. I don't think I'd like them so much if they were spiders. Big beetles, maybe? >.>
Also: Tifa, I'm sorry none of us answered you on your question. I totally missed that for some reason. Since Tifa had some martial arts training (right?), then I'd say it's perfectly fine. Like you pointed out, don't go too far with it, but I think you're doing fine. ))
