The long red-carpeted walkway stretched nearly as far as the eye could decently comprehend. White marble had been etched along the bridge walls into intricate details one could only fully understand up close.... though the entire picture could only be seen from so far away that the minute images couldn't even be spotted-- even with squinting.
An arched entrance marked the end of this walkway and the beginning of the great holy city of Bevelle. Priests bowed to each other in greeting in the fashion of Yevon and then shuffled away with the long robes whispering against the pristine ground, not picking up any dust from the immaculate surface.

Reno walked up the steps onto the entrance bridge and blinked the sun out of his eyes. He raised a hand to his brow to shield himself from the light. "What kind of place is this, do you think?" He asked the party. "What kind of city is actually SUNNY? Where's the smog? Where's the overcast? Where's the top plate?" He blinked a bit and squinted back at Zack. "D'you think this place has been touched by some holy hand of God?" He asked in jest, but once his eyes adjusted he caught sight of the priests. He cleared his throat. "Well, I guess that answers that." Reno sighed, his red ponytail falling over his shoulder like a defeated serpent. "So much for the booze...."

((This is a really long bridge. We only wish we could be this lon.... I mean.... :cough: ))
Zack walked next to Reno, but stared at the red carpet. "What do you think they do when it rains? Shouldn't it be pink by now?" He sighed and stared at the sun as they walked. "It's a holy city, right? Then there's definately going to be something. Wine at the very least." He made a face. "Glorified grape juice. At least we can get breakfast. Hash browns. Coffee. Fifteen scrambled eggs." A smile crossed his face as he thought about it. "Yes, breakfast."
((I'm so hungry I could eat an octorock.))

Odin gazed with interest at the great towers and architecture of the city. It seemed almost as large as Lindblum, though their were no airships above. The Summon had decided to enter the city cloaked in illusion. This was Seymour's realm, or so he assumed. It was best, he thought, to give as little warning as possible. His avatar took the form of a tall man in fine robes, which he adapted to the local style subtly as he observed them, and a gleaming silver helmet which concealed his face.
Psychically he felt through the city. It was full with strange eldritch powers in it's bowels, throbbing dark powers that he could barely fathom. This was a city full of secrets. There were a large amount of priests hovering around, more than Odin had ever seen collectively. Clearly this was place of religious import. A pilgrimage spot maybe? Or a temple? He scanned the city. Or maybe both?
He waited near the entrance to the metropolis looking back over the sapphire skies, searching, waiting. Come on, Setzer, come on. I am loath to do this alone.

"Great," Reno replied. "A little communion wine would do me just fine..." His smile faded, "That implies that we go to church, though.... doesn't it?" His eyes moved to the figure of a tall man, his eyes gazing intent on the sky. "Hey," Reno said as he elbowed Zack, "What do you think HE's waiting for?"

((Changed my mind, guys. We're gonna go ahead and land in front of the bridge for simplicity's sake.))
As the 'ship closed in on the grand walled city, Setzer drew in a breath of awe. The place was a marvel to be sure, an still entirely uninviting. In a hurried decision, the captain pulled The Falcon into a slow decent, spiraling down into a landing in front of the great bridge for lack of space. This seemed to be the only entry point...
"Well," he breathed, hoping that very few of the inhabitants of this city noticed their arrival, "shall we?" Please let them be friendly, at least.
(ugh, I'm rusty...)

Vivi stared in awe at the Intricate city in front of him. When he was watching it approach from farther away, he kept expecting the ship to land, yet the ship got closer and closer, and the city larger and larger. He had completely forgoten that there were others with him as well.
When Setzer spoke Vivi jumped, as if someone had startled him when he was almost asleep. Hey quickly regained his child like curiosity and started to wonder who the inhabitants of the wonderful looking city were. He gathered up his staff and started walking towards the exit hoping that the others were all coming with him. He decided to pause at the door to wait, while looking back at them, almost impatiantly.
(yeah, it has been a while since I made an in character post... I definitley need to rid me of this rust.)

(sorry all, been away for a few days dealing with an extremely sick cat, who we eventually had to put down. Stopped eating because her sister disappeared, went into liver failure that we couldn't pull her out of despite over $1500 in care *sigh*. Also, I could only find one pic of Bevelle, so if my description is way, way, WAY off let me know ) Tifa leaned over the railing of The Falcon, watching the city slowly rotate towards her. It was certainly a marvel. The entire city seemed sculpted rather than built, glinting in the light, rust-colored walls seeming to shine. It was breathtaking...and somehow menacing. Tifa couldn't help but feel somehow uneasy as the airship approached the city. It reminded her of Midgar. As the ship banked and turned, she caught sight of the long bridge leading to the city. People moved about, caught up in their own lives, hurrying towards or away from the gate. Then she noticed three figures, seemingly strolling, unconcerned with the bustle around them. The dark haired one tickled her memory, but the one with the red ponytail she recognized. Obnoxious Turk, she thought. Then she saw the other with incredibly long, silver hair, and her heart leaped into her throat. "Sephiroth." She breathed, eyes going wide. It was impossible. Sephiroth was dead...Cloud killed him. She turned her head towards Cloud. "Cloud, am I going crazy, or is that Sephiroth?" She gestured at the group of men. "Logically, it just can't be him. You killed him at the reactor and saved my life. How can he be standing there?"

Zack opened his mouth to comment on the tall man, something about a weather report from waaaay up there. Not that the SOLDIER was particularily short -- he was taller than the Turk, that's for sure. No, the man ahead was almost ridiculously tall. Seph would have needed to look up at the helmed man. There was something about the man's appearance that felt... slippery. Zack had the hardest time looking at him; his eyes kept sliding away of their own accord. It made his skin crawl. No, the sarcastic comment evaporated when the massive airship descended from the cloudcover and into view. The massive, *wooden* airship. There was a certain elegance and nobility that came with the relic. Nothing that ornate had ever flown out of ShinRa's hangars. It suited the ornate city. Zack wanted a ride. "Do you think it's a touring 'ship? More importantly, do they serve breakfast?" he asked no one in particular.

Cloud was jarred out of his reverie as Tifa shook him and expressed her concerns. He had been looking at the city, and thinking of how it reminded him of a cleaner Midgar. Although the cleanliness no doubt hid some form of corruption, since Seymour was somewhere in there.
"You'll find there are plenty of surprises in this world, Tifa. Death is not the obstacle it once was."
Cloud said as he eyed the other group. He could just make out Reno...And of course, Sephiroth as Tifa had pointed out. Zack was there as well. Oh, what a happy reunion this would be.
"I just can't figure out why he won't stay dead. This is what, the third or fourth time I'm going to have to kill him?"
Cloud said, gritting his teeth as he said so.
"Well? Evil won't wait all day."
Setzer said almost playfully. Cloud gave him a look, and then smiled.
"You're right."
Cloud grabbed the handle of the ladder and began to climb down.
"It ends today. This time, for good."

((Uh... Cloud... did that stuff before Junon actually happen? I was assuming that you abandoned that thread for something more active, and so cancelled what happened. That's how the rest of us have been playing... I'm confused))

With a final nod, the captain headed towards the ladder, grabbing on and expertly swinging himself down a few rungs from the top. He peeked over the edge of the ship, glancing at the two standing idly-- if not stiffly-- in place. "Well?" he chimed carefully, trying to be playful without perhaps interrupting some important revelation between the two. "Evil won't wait all day."
With that, Setzer flew down the ladder, heeled boots striking the ground with a difinitive thud.
((Ahaha! I cannot get this image out of my head. Vivi trying to climb down the ladder, slipping, and landing on Setzer. Aahhh, comedy.))

Swinging a leg over to step on the first rung of the ladder, Tifa kept a wary eye on the three men. They had watched the ship's descent, and she would not believe for a minute that their casual stance should be taken at face value. She knew for a fact that Sephiroth and that Turk were skilled fighters. The third wore a SOLDIER uniform, and tickled at her mind. She knew she had seen him before.
As she stepped onto the shining surface of the bridge her eyes locked with the arrogant redhead. Crossing her arms, she studied him and Sephiroth. Sephiroth seemed to hold himself apart from the two others, though the Turk and SOLDIER seemed companionable enough. She couldn't help but think of her father, and fought the urge to avenge him.
Moving to stand next to Cloud, she kept a wary eye on the three. Tilting her head towards Cloud and Setzer, she asked, "Are these guys who we're here to fight?"

As Vivi swung himself on to the ladder after Setzer, he all of a sudden remembered the time in his Uncle's hoise when he fell of the ledge. Slowly he worked his way down the ladder to the ground below. When he was about two steps from the bottom his foot slipped and Vivi suddenly lost his grip on the ladder.
"Oh no." thought Vivi. When he looked up from the ground, he was looking right at Setzer. he hurrued up and shook himself off and waited for the other two, who seemed growingly interested in the three characters they had seen on the bridge.
