For example, let's go with 066. Rain. This can be anything to do with water in droplets. Literal rain, a storm, wishing for rain, sitting inside while it's raining, Raine.... be creative.
Hi, I'm applying as Aerith. If accepted, I think I'd like to play as a White Mage since she focuses so heavily on healing. You can email me at darkrainfalls@hotmail.com. Here's my application.
It was raining in Gongaga when Aerith decided to leave.
She sat in the front room, listening to the gentle hiss on the rooftop and the quiet voice in the next room. Though Tifa had long since smoothed a cool potion over Aerith's cheek, she could still feel the swelling just below her eye and the hot blood on her lip. The younger woman had held her hand and reassured her. 'He didn't mean it,' she'd said. 'Cloud has some problems but he never meant to hurt you.' Aerith only listened with half an ear. Those dark eyes were haunted. Tifa didn't believe those reassurances herself.
But that had been hours ago, before the rain had begun its hypnotic thrum against the roof. Of all the nearby cities, Aerith had insisted on Gongaga. Somehow knowing that it was Zack's hometown made her feel safe. If she closed her eyes and listened to the rain, she was back in his apartment. She could smell him - smell Gongaga - beneath all the cologne and sword oil. She opened her eyes, yet the illusion remained. All around, she could feel him.
And she could feel her should-be-swollen cheek. Aerith finally steeled her courage and entered the inner bedroom. Her soft boots made little noise in the room, and that was masked by the steady downfall outside. Tifa had crumpled over and fallen asleep in the chair. Aerith noted with a pang that her fingers were entwined with Cloud's. She flinched inwardly when she looked at his sleeping face haunted by troubled dreams. She stood there for a moment, watching them sleep. With a sigh, she removed her materia-encrusted bangle and set it on the nightstand next to those familiar reinforced gloves.
A wave of nostalgia broke over her when she picked up the tattered glove. She remembered sitting cross-legged on the bed in the guest room, her needle swishing in and out through the worn fingertips. Zack rested his head against the bed and her knee. How Cloud had found them and the rest of Zack's uniform - she knew every tear - she couldn't figure out, especially since Cloud claimed to have never met him.
She couldn't stay for much longer than that. A quick check of her wallet - 200 gil - wouldn't take her the whole way. To where, though? Sephiroth had the Black Materia. Cloud had.... She shied away from the memory. No, she knew exactly where she had to go - and what awaited her there.
Without a word of farewell, Aerith stole away into the dark rainy midnight, silently convincing herself that she was going to stop Sephiroth, not running from the man with the troubled dreams.
We're looking at both your creativity and your knowledge of the English language. If there's a reason that your writing might give me an ulcer, please let us know. We've had several players whose native language is DEFINITELY not English. We take this into consideration.
On top of all this, we're also checking whether or not you know the who and "when" for your character. Since this game relies so heavily on Time Compression, you have to know "when" your character is. It's possible to play a character from before the game (Cloud by the well), or a character who is only a flashback (Braska).
The sky's the limit... well, we do have some rules to WHO you can apply as.
- You cannot play Ultimecia. You cannot be controlled by Ultimecia. You cannot be Ultimecia's twin sister Arutemishia.
- We do not accept original characters. Not now, not ever. Xenos is the only exception to the rule since he's been around longer than you and we needed a new villain. No sense having Sephiroth come back just to be a cheesy villain.
- You can, however, play named characters, even if they have little relevence to the story. Remember the dolphin girl from VII? Pricilla? If you want, you could play her.
- Summons are very special characters and to play, you have to display an equally special talent. You need to pick your origin existence (game), but also have a very well versed knowledge of every other world's summoning system. At least the ones your character resides in... Alexander and Odin don't know about Spira, Valefor knows nothing but Spira.
- I keep getting these questions, and I thought it would be obvious. We are FINAL FANTASY Infinity. Not SQUARESOFT or, heaven forbid, SQUAREENIX Infinity. As much as I like them, you cannot play Sydney, Citan, Sora, or other Square characters. Yes, I know that Vagrant Story links to Final Fantasy through XII. The two and Tactics are not included within the timeline.(edit 0/25/08)
When applying, please also include your desired job class. geocities.com/backuptothesun/ffi_job_index/index.html
This is where you can view the classes we offer.
Also, please leave an email or something where we can reach you if we need to (it happens a lot).
Have fun, and we can't wait to see your application!
