The ex general didn't have any intention to 'hang out' with the new group that was forming; in fact, he was already tired to move on with the two annoying beings by his side. Seeing this girl Aerith couldn't make any good for him, as well. Just the pronunciation of her name made he feel strangely uncomfortable inside. The control was still his. But what if Jenova...
Sephiroth shook his head. The silver strands fell on his face, covering part of it like a curtain. Then he sent a glance to Zack. That soldier didn't lose his hope on him, and saved him (even though without his consent) and still insisted on traveling by the general's side even considering everything he had done. His friendship (or stupidity) was something he couldn't let pass, like still remembering his past days as general. But traveling next to Cloud...
Giving a silent sigh, he turned to the soldier with his usual authority voice. "Move forward, boy. Let's rescue this girlfriend of yours. "
Before starting the journey, he sent a glance to Vincent, who was keeping an eye on him. Was this the Vincent that fought him earlier or it was another one, from a different past? Even though he didn't want to discuss, Sephiroth spoke with the corner of his mako eyes locked on the man. "What? If it's revenge you seek, join the others later. I'm not in the mood for it right now..."

((I'll just make a 'Bevelle Temple' thread then Aerith, that way Baha and I can catch up. I'm officially passing on (from this thread) after my following RP post!)) His heady emptiness was subsiding pretty fast, the haze over his thoughts clearing piece by painful piece. For some reason, he couldn't feel the familiar weight of his masamune...but some lighter weapon was in it's place. But other than that, all the magic and the abilities he could remember learning, seemed to have faded completely. He could no longer remember anything he'd learnt in his use of that expansive Sphere Grid as he assisted Yuna and Guardian's on her Pilgrimage. He tried to concentrate on what he remembered learning, but couldn't draw upon any of the abilities. Sighing as he tramped his way through to the Temple, he continued trying to call upon the most basic of skills, or even the spells he'd mastered, but each attempt ending in failure. Couldn't even conjure the sparky basis to his Thunder, or a single flame from the Fire attempts. Without realising, he stood at the end of the cloister of trials, he'd been so engulfed in his attempts, he'd not realised he'd instinctively perused and performed all required of him in the cloister, without even paying attention. "That helped." he whispered, absently...his mind still lost in the confusion of nothing being the way it should have been. Everything seemed out of whack.

Still confused by how fast everyone eased up, Vivi was having trouble getting his head together. Maybe the spell had drained his mental energy more than he though it had. He wasn't even sure if his magic would work here... No that wasn't true. he could still feel the raw power coursing through his veins. He would have to be more careful from now on. He needed to work on his accuracy a little more too. He had no intentions of hurting any one, but had set the red-haired man's shoulder ablaze.
He saw Tifa give him a look of thanks, but Vivi still wasn't sure that he had actually helped anything. But ever so slightly, when everyone started to talk about moving on, Vivi's childlike curiosity started to creep back into his veins.
Looking up at Setzer, he gave his excited look, "Is it okay if you take me around town? I am scared to be alone in big towns. People always get scared of me and try to hurt me."
Before Setzer could answer him, he started to feel very mentally tired. however Vivi was very used to the feeling. With that he made a mental note to look for some ether's in town.

Tifa paused at Cloud's lack of response and sighed. If he wants to be closemouthed about this, I'll just let him. He must be really worried about this Aerith. I hope she is deserving of him. I wish he found me deserving of him. Shaking herself, she looked over her shoulder at Setzer and Vivi.
"Vivi, you and I can stick together, if you want. You've watched my back, I can watch yours." With a smile, she offered her hand to the small mage. "Setzer, have you been here before? Can you and Cloud maybe show us around?"
As she reached for Vivi's hand, Tifa's eyes swept past Sephiroth, the SOLDIER, and the Turk. Sephiroth still made her uneasy, but he seemed far less insane than he once had. She supposed the SOLDIER would step in if Sephiroth did begin butchering people. Though she couldn't be sure. They all three were Shinra, after all.
To the Turk, she barked an order. "Put that potion on your chest. You'll be sorry if you don't."

"I could always do it again... or maybe a bit stronger next time" Vivi joked. He could hardly hide the grin on his face, although no one could actually see his face.
He reached up and took Tifa's hand. He was happy to have found friends in this world. He just hoped that it didn't come at the cost of the rest of his friends in the process.

Reno grimaced at the threat of the little mage, but did as Tifa said, blotting the stinging potion on his chest where the fire had singed through. He pocketed the rest and straightened. His teal eyes locked onto a beast-- not something he's ever seen before. It climbed up out of the gently-shifting mist beneath the bridge with great tentacles. He pulled out his nightstick and activated it with a sick crack. "Watch out, kids. We've got guests." He crouched down, thinking to attack the single opponent when a wave of tentacles slapped over the top of the bridge. The beasts hoisted themseves up, the seed bodies seeming to glow and crack open, fluttering wings flitted about in.... was that anticipation? Reno stepped back a moment, faltering. "Zack!" he called, originally to sound the group attack, but screams from within the town made him shake his head, "We need to find Aerith, NOW!" A beastie raced towards Tifa and the Turk made a dash for it, slamming it in the (head?) with the crackling buzz of electricity.
"Talk about a large scale attack," Reno murmured at the wall of monsters. "Normally I'd stick around to play, but we've made prior arrangements." With that he turned quickly to Setzer, Tifa and Vivi, eyeing them each in turn. "Let's move. We can figure out this place as we go."

Vincent looked on at the beasts. He'd never come across creatures so deeply weird. They looked like they were a mix between fish, birds and any kind of four legged creature, that had a taste, or thirst for blood and flesh. He held his handgun, strong and tight. Not much of a weapon, but a weapon none-the-less,as he knew they'd attack in a group, soon enough.
"Cloud, Tifa, move on. Reno, step back." he didn't want casualties, friend or foe (from the people, anyway) but these creatures were obviously, very far from friendly. He, Tifa and Cloud would be able to use all the help they could get. Even, if it were to come from the foul beast himself...Sephiroth, but if Cloud could take up arms along-side Sephiroth, Vincent would follow. He trusted Cloud, and his trust was difficult to earn. He trusted all of those he spent his time with...even Cait Sith, who directly admitted his betrayal.
"Cloud..." he failed to find suitable words, but this army would give him Cloud's answer one way or another. They needed to get inside the city, rather than continue this idle chatter outside, amongst hundreds, if not thousands of random, yet identical creatures. He turned a sharp angle, to direct his gaze to the right of the airship. It seemed that there was another group on that side...but the one closest seemed to have a light flickering on its wings.
He failed to find words at this sight, until...needle's, struck his arm and part of his chest. "Argh!" he cried, the pain sudden, and intense. They were sharp, sharper than any needle or even blade that he'd ever come across. He clutched his shoulder with his right hand, Handgun stowed back in its holster on his leg. Left arm, bleeding quite heavily, but it wouldn't show very easily, not on his cloak at least. He tapped Cloud quickly, with his right hand, blood dripping down his left arm slowly.
"Be...careful...don't let they're...wings flicker." he panted, the blood loss affecting his breathing habits. They had to move, now.

( Hey, it's no problem. The post is easily fixed, thanks to my visits to the weapon shop when we were in AG. )
"Tifa."
Cloud said as he turned to her. He could almost sense how she was feeling, since he had been down this road with her once before.
"Tifa, Aerith is-"
Before he could finish his thought, the world exploded into a flurry of violence. Vincent was hit, although Reno managed to take out a few. The monsters were everywhere; it would be difficult to get by. Cloud drew the Buster Blade and Murasame, holding the Katana in his off-hand.
"Vincent and Reno are correct. We cut through, don't stop to fight. Zack, take Sephiroth, Reno, and Setzer with you. Tifa, you and Vivi are with me and Vincent."
He turned to Vincent, the pain in his voice obvious. He was having difficulty breathing; not good, that could mean the needles are poisoned.
"Vincent, can you move?"
Cloud asked, moving to block a flurry of needles that went in Tifa's direction. He looked towards Vivi, to make sure the little mage was alright.
"Vivi, we need a path. Are you up to it?"

Cloud's voice starteled Vivi out of his shock. Quickly glancing around for the quickest route through the beast, he looked back at Cloud and nodded.
"Please protect me though" Vivi asked, noticing the heavy bleeding coming from Vincent's arm.
Looking far deeper into his spirit then he did when burning the red-haired man, Reno did they call him?, he focused his spirit on half a dozen of the creatures. Falling almost into a non-responsive state the skies darkened and massive bolts of lightning pounded from the sky, laying about 6-7 of the creatures completely still on the ground.
It is time to get out of here... thought Vivi as he continued to either Burn, Shock, or Freeze the wretched beasts and continueing to clear a hole for the group to get through.

While Tifa's hand gently grasped Vivi's, she looked back at the sound of Cloud's voice. As his bright eyes locked to her dark ones, a loud crack followed by a flapping sound startled them. The Turk's hollered warning pulled Tifa's eyes from Cloud, and she turned back to see Reno slamming into a...she didn't know what to call it, but some sort of tentacled creature. It had been charging toward her.
He protected me...again? Tifa thought to herself in disbelief. Dozens of the creatures suddenly flooded over the bridges, and people everywhere were screaming. Cloud walked past, barking orders. The man in red...Cloud had called him Vincent, cried as some sort of needle pierced his arm. Moving in front of Tifa, Cloud asked for Vivi's assistance.
"Don't worry Vivi," Tifa whispered down to him, with a smile. Eyeing the creatures all around them, she tightened her gloves and brought fists in front of her, setting herself with her back to Cloud's. "Like I said, you have my back, and I have yours." With a nod to Vivi, her eyes fell upon Vincent, who seemed to be struggling.
"Turk!" Tifa shouted, hoping to be heard above the clamor. "I need that cure. Now!"

((I can't remember if we covered this before, but if we did, it was a very long time ago. Since I'm not allowing any Compilation, I don't think First Tsurugi should be allowed either. I know you were wanting to play Cloud at that point in his life, which is still fine, provided that you don't mention the Courier Service, Denzel, the Remnants, or anything else connected to Advent Children and later. I'm sorry, but if I'm an ass to one person, I have to be one to everyone.))

Reno gave Tifa a sharp nod and tossed the potion to her. "Take care of him, and be careful," the Turk called and rushed his way through a group of the treacherous beasties with his nightstick crackling dimly in comparison to the little mage's monstrous lightning. He beat down one pulling at his pant leg with the thin insect feet. He shuddered. "I've never been much for bugs, but do these things really count?" Reno asked no one in particular-- probably Zack. He hopped up on one of them, jumping from head to head and driving them into the ground as he made his way towards Sephiroth.
"Get me some repellent any day!" The colours on the hard shells shimmered hypnotically, but Reno bashed at them so quickly he didn''t have time to stare too long. "But it's a nice workout!" Finally he dove into the clearing where Zack had been barbarian-swinging his club-- sword.... "And since when did I take orders from Avalanche?" He shook his head and ducked under an attack from the sinspawn and jumped over one of Zack's swings. "Doesn't he seem a bit pushy to you?"

Vivi had to take a small instant of a break from casting; the mental energy he had expended was enough to steal the consciousness of an untrained mage. But that was definitely not Vivi. He glanced over at Tifa and saw one of the bug like creatures running up behind her, and another running up behind Reno.
Quickly he forced himself to fight through his mental anguish and started back casting again. This time the Air around the fight got extremely frigid. After a few seconds, what looked like giant crystals of ice fell from the sky crushing both the bugs that threatened his partners. It almost seemed like there was no end to the creatures. He hoped that it would end soon. His mental energy was not unlimited.
"Does anybody have any ethers?" Vivi yelled out, hoping tat someone had one to replenish what mental energy he had lost. But he had to keep on fighting.

Tifa caught the vial the Turk tossed at her, arching an eyebrow at his warning. As he turned to fight more of the creatures, she shook her head.
"Could he be more annoying?" She muttered to herself. It surprised her that the words were accompanied by a very involuntary smile.
Looking towards Vincent, she glanced at Vivi and Cloud. "Do you guys think you could cover me? Vincent needs help. Now." Vivi wavered for a moment, and some odd looking, winged 4 legged...thing rushed for the little mage.
Leaping up, Tifa planted her heel into a purple-blue soft point, crushing the creature with the weight of the blow. Panting, she said to Vivi, "Cloud may have something. Ask while we move. We have to get to Vincent." As good as her word, she ran towards the fallen man, dodging bug and sea-creature like monsters, punching and kicking those that were unavoidable. Depending on what and where she hit, they made disconserting sounds, like a rotted melon dropping to the ground and splatting open, or a bone-crunching crack.
Skidding to a halt in front of Vincent, she dropped to her knees, avoiding needles shot at her head. Hurriedly she opened the jar.
"Vincent, stay with us." She murmured softly to him as her fingers worked the contents of the bottle into his torn arm.

Sephiroth kept seeing the invasion of the monsters with cold eyes. For him, that was just too annoying. Seeing the exasperation of the turk and the saying 'doesn't he seem a bit pushy to you?' directed to Zack, he just raised an eyebrow. With a sadistic smile he added: "We don't need to obey, do we? That was just in time...I was bored."
With a quick movement the general pulled his beloved masamune from its scabbard and opened a vast space swinging it around himself. The lenght of the sword was almost well known as its fame. Striking the beasts one after the other made the silver clad man smile almost with cruelty. He didn't plan on saving anyone; he felt like was doing it for himself, but ended up getting close to the other group fighting, just in order to kill a monster that was just about to attack the little mage. The range of the sword was actually opening a path without his own notice, but he didn't care. That action was needed, but that wasn't making good things to his mind. Blood...killing...He was almost dancing through the beasts swinging and jumping, fast as he could, like a dance of death.
Nothing could stop him for now.
