"Are these guys who we're here to fight?"
Tifa's question was justified, if a bit off the mark. However, if they were very unlucky, it would end up going the way she had just predicted.
"No, none of these guys are Seymour."
Cloud said, moving a hand to the hilt of his sword. He kept his eyes on Sephiroth; Reno and Zack weren't a threat unless they moved to protect him. And besides, Zack might as well be a ghost. A shadow.
"But that doesn't mean we won't have to fight."

Setzer bit back a laugh as he patted Vivi on the shoulder, eyes on the group that seemed to bother Cloud and Tifa. He shook his head, quietly stepping forward to place a hand on Cloud's arm. "That doesn't mean we will, either," he assured, offering a calm smile to the girl at his side.
"Remember that nothing is sure now." The captain straightened, thrusting his hands into the pockets of his gentleman's coat. He puffed his chest out, rather like a proud cat, tilting his chin up before starting off down the bridge.
If there was one thing that he remembered about his gambling, it was that one should always look confident-- the enemy is less likely to think little of you.

Reno's grin spread across his face almost foolishly. "If they have food it's bound to be good! Think of what kind of food those people can afford!" He had to swallow to keep himself from salivating. Too long without food.... When the ladder rolled out like a tongue from the beast's mouth, Reno grinned. "Great! We ready for a boarding action, Zack? Hehe... And look, they've got girls, too!" He blurted out, only seeing momentarily after that the girl was, in fact Tifa. His breath caught. Fan....tastic. Reforming of Avalanche again? Reno sighed and shook his head. "Never mind, Zack. You wouldn't want THAT one.... What do you think, General? Another war on our hands?"

Shifting under the red-headed Turk's gaze, Tifa kept a wary eye on the three men and returned Setzer's smile. She thought the white-haired man could be trusted, since Cloud certainly seemed to. She knew she could put her faith in Cloud.
"So if we're not here to fight these three," Tifa nodded her head towards the group of men, "Where do we find this Seymour?"
Watching the Turk, the SOLDIER, and especially Sephiroth, Tifa waited for an answer. Sephiroth was close to the worst sort of evil she could imagine, outside of the Shinra who had created him. If they weren't here to defeat Sephiroth, how bad could this Seymour be?

(( For crying out loud, so sorry i have been this absent...i have got completely lost due to college..that won't happen again!))
Sephiroth remained static, even though so much action and emotions were flowing around him. He knew his presence wasn't pleasurable to the most part of the people present. Specially Cloud. The general could almost feel his eyes piercing his skin. 'What an annoying kid...not as much as Zack, though...'
Sephiroth crossed his arms around the chest and didn't look at Reno when this one asked, but he answered keeping his eyes fixed on the soldier.
"Not interested." He said that giving his back to the new strangers around, although he knew some of them. Tifa , must be her name, and Cloud...how long this cat and mouse fight will continue? He was not planning to fight, but of course, he wasn't planning to run either.
'So...what will be this time now, Cloud?' the silver clad man thought, his eyes burning, for maybe, just a little action. But then...it would have no return...

Cloud's muscles tightened for a moment as he felt Setzer's hand on his shoulder, but he relaxed and dropped his hand from the hilt of his sword without further comment. He turned to Tifa as she asked where exactly Seymour was.
"Your guess is as good as mine."
He said with a shrug, although his attention was just as quickly reverted to Sephiroth. How many times would he come back to haunt Cloud? How many times would he have to be killed before he was satisfied, and finally stayed a long forgotten memory?
"Until the debt is paid, I will not rest. I'll have my vengeance yet, you bastard."
Cloud said under his breath, turning to focus his complete attention on Sephiroth. He wouldn't start an issue now, at least not without provocation. He had bigger fish to fry.

Stamping out a burst of irritation, Tifa sighed. She didn't know where she was, why Cloud had aged while she had not, what the three men in front of her were doing here, much less who this Seymour was. And now Cloud was telling her they weren't here to fight Sephiroth, the man who had murdered her father and tried to do the same to Cloud and herself. It was all so...frustrating.
Watching everybody stare at each other like strange cats suddenly found locked in a small space together, she decided to take charge and get some questions answered. Stepping forward, she rested her fists on her hips and lifted her chin challengingly.
"What are you doing here?" She called to the three men.

The captain flinched as Tifa called to the other men. She was rash, he felt, calling the attention of the rather dangerous looking group. Yes, they might have known eachother, but all Setzer could think about was slipping by and finding Aerith. He wondered if Cloud had momentarily forgotten their goal.
The gambler glanced between the three standing ahead. Two if them seemed friendly enough, though something about the one with his back turned bothered Setzer. Those eyes reminded him of... of Cloud? Shaking his head, he strode forward, hoping the groud would cause them no grief. "We're looking for a friend who came through here. She was..." He stopped, thinking better of it. "You wouldn't happen to have...?" He haulted again. Perhaps it was too much to ask.

Vivi could see the rising tension mounted on everyone's face. This was no place to start a fight. There were too many people around. He kept glancing nervously from Cloud, to Tifa, and then to Setzer wondering what was going to happen first. He heard someone start to talk... or at least he thought it was someone, but quickly realized that it was himself, to the group of three people that had been seen from the bridge.
"Who are you guys...?” Vivi asked. he glanced back again to Tifa and Cloud, the two people that seemed to know them best... "And who exactly are we looking for?" he said shifting his glance to Setzer.
Vivi had decided that he needed answers.

Reno turned to look between Sephiroth and Cloud. "What do you mean 'not interested'? Are you serious?" He had been just about to follow the General when Aerith called out to them. He skidded to a halt, pretty much balancing on one foot. Well this is amazing, Reno thought to himself, Talk about awkward. Even Cloud's here.... He peered over his shoulder and in his limber way, rotated himself around to face Tifa. "Well, it's kind of hard to explain...." He laughed and scratched his head, then paused. "What am I talking about? We were in Nibelheim and it's pretty much a ghost town. It just keeps burning, no matter what we do to stop it. We thought we had it taken care of, but right before we got down to business, things started all over again! It was on repeat, like that day seven years ago." He sighed and tapped his nightstick in thought. "After that, we came here looking for somewhere to stay. We just got here a moment ago, so we haven't seen anyone." He looked to Setzer for a brief moment. "Sorry. Can't help more than that.... but.... I agree with the kid. Who ARE you looking for? Just out of curiosity." What was he doing making conversation with Avalanche like this? And what was up with Cloud? He was actually restraining himself? What was going on?
But I guess there are stranger things.... Like Zack and Sephiroth. Hell, as far as I know, this could be the Cloud from the future. He peered at the man for a moment. Nah, that's ridiculous. He hasn't aged a day.

The captain shook his head, glancing back at Cloud. "A girl. Brown hair, green eyes. She was taken... kidnapped." He sighed... how could he have let this happen in the first place? Setzer shook his head. "You've noticed it too, then, surely. Something's happened. The world's all jumbled up," he started, face contorting in the oddest way. "It's like when my whole world fell apart... but now, there are new places. I've traveled the world, and I've never seen a place like this. It's not right"
The scarred man frowned. " But... listen, that's not what's important, now. Our friend-- Aeris is in there somewhere, I think, and she's in danger." All of this was so very confusing, Setzer thought. "We don't really have time to explain..."
(Er, I guess I was waiting for someone else to post. But, uh, if you guys were waiting for me, you should have said something.)

Eyes widening, Tifa stared at the Turk. Maybe my father is still alive! As she opened her mouth to ask about Nibelheim, Setzer spoke, and she snapped her jaw shut, listening to the gray-haired man's words. She kept her eyes fastened on the redhead though. I can ask him about Nibelheim later. I'll find a way. My father...
When Setzer finished, Tifa nodded. "If this Aeris is a friend of Cloud's, then she's a friend of mine. So, where do we find her and this Seymour?"

Vivi could feel the rising childish excitement inside of him. He was ready to explore this place.
"Umm... I think that we should just start looking around. Maybe we might over hear something or see her even."
With that, Vivi made sure that his patchwork jacket was all straight, his hat was still on right, and that he had a tight grip on his staff. With that he nodded to Setzer, Tifa, and Cloud. Then he thought about it.
what if they don't let me in...? What if they try to hurt me...? Will Setzer, tifa, and Cloud help me?

Post by Vincent Valentine on Oct 6, 2007 1:04:40 GMT -5
((Peekaboo, I am here! Now, we'll just pretend my existence in Barret's is not actually there.))
He struggled with his body as he, Vincent Valentine, attempted to regain consciousness and force himself to his feet. He could only see blurred outlines of people, buildings, and the ground beneath him. Crumbling, he hit the ground. There was a sort of fog in his mind denying him entry into the ways of movement and speech.
Again, he attempted to raise himself but only fell back into the hard ground. But some of the fog began to lift as his vision adjusted, and he noted the red carpet he was on. Red was a common fixture in his life, as it would seem, as he wore a long, tattered, but still good red cape, flowy and light, but still provided good shelter from many a thing. That and he felt attached to it; he'd worn it since his 'awakening' by Cloud...Cloud...where was he? Tifa, Red, Barret and the others...where were they all?
Again, he felt more of the fog lift, and he tried once more to stand, succeeding finally, he looked around. And who else did he see, but none other than the heretic...the beast, the scourge...Sephiroth. "Impossible...he's meant to be dead." he choked. He instinctually reached for his Death Penalty only to pull out his old Handgun. He backed off a bit, completely unaware of the other two men by Sephiroth's side...all he saw was Sephiroth, and everything else was blackness.
But quickly his alertness spread, and he realised who was standing by the ex-SOLDIER General...Reno? Why was Reno with Sephiroth? And who was the other man? And what was with that old wooden airship? Where did it come from? He heard the cries of 'heresy' and 'blasphemers' from people behind, but he did not allow his focus to swagger.
This was too insane, even for him. Where, were they?
